What do the Boston Red Sox, cats, and four Internet businesses
translate into?
An EXTREMELY busy few weeks! I apologize for not sending out a
newsletter last week I have so much to report. It has been
quite an amazing time
Before I get started, be sure to give special attention to todays
article it talks about PRWeb a free service that has
provided me with a *tremendous* amount of business, publicity, and
traffic to my website. Its an eye opener and something that
you can certainly take advantage of!
Also, my book, Zero To Six Figures, is available at
my website with no shipping cost. My book tells my personal story
and shows you step-by-step how to start and operate your own successful
business from the comfort of your home.

Before I get into todays training article, heres a
brief recap of the last few weeks:
I am very involved with a non-profit cat rescue group here in Rhode
Island. Two weekends ago, we had our annual fundraiser called Artisans
For Animals. The event was a huge success which saw nearly
300 guests attend! We raised $16,000 which goes directly towards
the care of
the cats. I am grateful for the flexibility in my schedule that
my home-based businesses provide - I am able to contribute a great
deal to the rescue of homeless and abandoned cats because of it.
I put up a few pictures from the event - SEE BELOW.
I also had the opportunity to go to the Boston Red Sox this past
weekend. What a BLAST! My good friend works the cameras for NESN.
We went into the ballpark two hours before the public can go in
and had the grand tour. We also were able to watch batting practice.
The game was great as well I put up a ton of pictures from
the ballpark and the game in my journal. (SEE BELOW)
Now, back to business
I've been talking a lot in the past few months about DIVERSITY
and ways to get TRAFFIC to your site (if you missed the articles,
you can read them in my journal at my site).
#1: TRAFFIC It is one thing to get a business started on
the Internet. It is quite another to have
people that you dont know come to your website, read about
what you are offering, take out their credit cards, and make a purchase.
You must get people to your website.
#2: DIVERSITY - You should you strive to have a series of *different*
home-based Internet businesses. Your first product and your first
business are just the beginning. I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't
"put all of your eggs in one basket" - especially when
it refers to your income and how you MAKE MONEY.
As soon as possible, you should add new products, services, and
promotions to generate additional streams of income. If sales slow
down for one of your products, it is always nice to have something
else in place to pick up the slack.
With each product and new business, I see an increase in revenues.
Throughout the past 4 years, I have learned a valuable lesson about
the benefits of multiple income streams, and I continue to build
on it today.
One of the best things for me about this newsletter is the great
email conversations I have with my customers and subscribers as
a result. The main question that I am asked is:
"How do I begin to promote my business?
How
do I get TRAFFIC to my site?"
I have never relied on paid advertising for any of my home-based
Internet businesses
I've used a lot of other (cost-free) marketing
techniques which I still use as the foundation of my marketing.
However, I am now beginning to add paid advertising into the mix.
Each week in my newsletter, I want to discuss at least one SOLID
method to generate traffic to your site. I will touch on both paid
and cost-free ways to do this.
Each method that I recommend is something that I do myself
they are all techniques that I actually use and have success with.
Check back in my online journal for methods that Ive talked
about so far.

Publicity PRWeb.com
-------------------------------------------
The media can be one of your greatest allies and can provide you
with publicity at virtually no cost. Take advantage of the credibility
the media can provide for you by doing everything within your power
to have the media present you to the public.
Start with the local media first, and after you have had exposure
and experience, you can expand your horizons. The media is always
looking for human interest stories, especially those involving local
people and businesses.
Publicity can come in many forms. Get a feature article in your
local newspaper. Give interviews with radio, local television stations,
and local magazines. Speak confidently, believe in yourself and
your products, and speak from the heart.
Ive recently done a few interviews that I am SO excited about!
(More details to follow when the publications are out on the newsstands.)
A few of these interview requests came as a result of PRWeb (http://www.PRWeb.com).
I *HIGHLY* recommend this service and want to share it with you.
PRWeb caters to the small business and has offered free online
press release distribution services for 8 years. They are the largest
newswire catering to small and medium sized companies and organizations
and one of the largest online press release newswires.
I love this statement pulled from their website: Our mission
is to ensure that every organization has access to the media, regardless
of size.
This service is free of charge, however you can make a voluntary
financial contribution which helps to cover their costs. If you
do contribute, they will upgrade your press release with feature
enhancements that will increase its visibility and allow you to
track its success.
The website also has fabulous tips on creating a great press release
that will grab the attention of publishers. Check them out at: http://www.PRWeb.com
Until next week..
Jennifer :)

This was a fantastic night!
Doug and I were able to get into Fenway Park long before people
arrived.

This is Doug
watching batting practice - that's Manny Ramirez behind him on the
field.

This is our
friend, Joe Stafford.
He does the camera work and gave us the best tour of Fenway Park!

We had FANTASTIC
seats!

This sign
was so funny! We were so close - they had them everywhere in our
section.

Pedro was
pitching.

This is a
picture from the PawsWatch Cat Rescue "Artisans For Animals"
annual fundraiser.

This is me
and Daniel Buck Soules - our auctioneer for the event.
