Paying For Traffic - Does it Work??
This is an ongoing study, so check back. I will update it frequently as time goes on so you can see my actual results.

I'm doing a study on paying for traffic. I've had a bit of experience with paying for traffic in the past, but I have never relied on paid advertising in all of my successful home-based Internet businesses… I've used a lot of other (cost-free) marketing techniques which I still use as the foundation of my marketing.

However, I want to find out if paying for traffic is actually another feasible option for "us Internet business junkies." :) Does it work? Are there actually sites out there that will send you "real" traffic at a reasonable cost?

I always try to read the new training courses / manuals / newsletters that come out that talk about Internet businesses and Internet marketing. Many of them mention the benefit of paying for traffic, but never really divulge the actual sites that work for them. Sometimes I feel like these people are just "talking" about this method of advertising, but don't actually do it! I find this A LOT on the Internet. There are so many people out there who sell training courses and things on how to build a successful business from home, but they haven't actually done it themselves. That is why I always write from personal experience.

I would like to get to the bottom of the "does paying for traffic actually work" mystery…

I am trying many different sites right now. I don't mind investing a bit of money to find out. I also have a free online newsletter with a lot of people who are out there building businesses on the Internet, and I want to offer this information to them as well. I always talk about the "cost-free" methods of advertising, but a lot of people recently have been asking me about their options if they want to pay for traffic as well. Here's a partial list of what I'm currently working on.

I'm looking forward to this study … I hope it will bring you success in your business!!

Remember, this will be an on-going study. Be sure to check back here as I will update the list below as time goes on.

If YOU successfully pay for traffic, or have any questions or feedback, please let me know - my email is jenn@bonoff.com

#1 - Overture (www.overture.com) - I have great luck with Overture. I'll post my stats after a few more days go by.

#2 - Google AdWords (www.google.com) - I'm getting traffic, but it is not as good as Overture. Up to this point, it's costing me than I want to spend for the traffic generated. Of course, I'm basing this on a product that isn't priced very high (my soft-covered book, Zero To Six Figures," which only costs $21.95). I'm also going to try Google AdWords for my web design business, or www.SportsToSchool.com - my higher-valued products. Google AdWords might work better for this type of product… We'll see.

#3 - Keyword Marketplace (www.keywordmarketplace.com) - I've just started a trial with them. I actually got a few newsletter subscribers already which is promising. At least their traffic is "real!" As things progress, I will be sure to detail exactly what I'm getting to find out if it's cost-effective. They have a free $50 trial if anyone wants to test them out as well. Hopefully something good will result..

#4 - HitsCheap (www.hitscheap.com) - I'm not sure this will be promising, but it's so cheap, I'm willing to give it a try! The visitors are untargeted, but perhaps it still may work because of the volume of traffic. Time will tell - I just got started on this one.

#5 - Keywords, Inc. - (www.keywordsinc.com) - DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!!! THEY ARE A COMPLETE SCAM. They lie, they lie, they lie. I don't know how they sleep at night. I would rather be broke and miserable for the rest of my life than do business like these people do. Talk about unethical. Please - don't pay them for traffic… scam territory for sure.

I will post more about the results I'm getting. Hopefully some of you have had success in the past with paying for traffic as well and will share your thoughts. I look forward to it!

Jennifer :)
