Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you had a great holiday
I
haven't updated my journal in a few months. It always amazes me
how fast time flies by! What has happened since my last journal
entry? Let's see: we elected a president
fall is turning into
winter
THE RED SOX WON THE WORLD SERIES! As
I'm sure you know, Doug and I are huge fans and rarely miss a game.
The experience was a amazing, that's for sure. I'm not ready to
say that it was completely enjoyable, however (yes, I've seen the
"Curse of the Bambino" and have been living it first hand
for years:-) After all was said and done, Doug and I couldn't miss
the parade in Boston, so we went to experience the madness. It was
such an amazing event! I have added many new pictures below
.
(also, the picture to the left here is of pitchers Pedro Martinez
and Derek Lowe! Somehow we managed to get a front row spot at the
parade...) One last tidbit - Doug and I had the chance to see the
Sox and the Cardinals play during Spring Training while we were
in Jupiter, Florida last year!
On the business
side: Doug and I are being featured in the American Home Business
Association's (AHBA) infomercial titled, "The Right Move!
Home-Based Financial Freedom." My book, Zero To Six
Figures, is also featured. The AHBA has started to test the
infomercial in a few markets, and plans to roll out the infomercial
nationally beginning in January. We are very excited to see the
finished product. I do admit that it will be a little strange to
be channel-surfing throughout the day (and night) and suddenly see
ourselves on television!
(To see a few photos from the infomercial video shoot, visit the

journal entry)
I am also beginning
the process of getting my book into traditional book stores. I consider
myself to be an "Internet Entrepreneur." Over the last
5 years, with ALL of the my Internet businesses, 98% of my sales
have come from Internet-based advertising. (100 of the techniques
that Doug and I use to market our businesses are detailed in our
new e-book, 100% Marketing - www.TheHomeBusinessPeople.com/marketing.html).
Now, we are branching into new territory and are seeking out traditional
marketing ventures as well! We continue to add new bookstores who
carry Zero To Six Figures each week. It's an exciting process!
This is also further proof that you do not need a large advertising
budget, nor do you need to have a lot of funding to begin your own
business from home. Everything that we do is accomplished on with
limited funds - and with a lot of hard work and enthusiasm!
Our main website
has also received a face-lift. www.TheHomeBusinessPeople.com
has a brand new design. At that site, we offer my free bi-weekly
newsletter, my book, our 100% Marketing e-book, and our website
design service. We have been keeping VERY busy with website design
as well. We work with traditional businesses as well as many home-based
business owners who are seeking affordable website development.
My favorite part of the home-business process is the start-up. I
love to help people take their ideas and turn them into solid businesses.
My website design work certainly gives me my fill of this! Here
are just a few of our clients' websites that we have been working
on:

SportsToSchool.com is always a priority here as well. The website
has gotten a brand new look - check it out at: www.SportsToSchool.com
. We are in the midst of accepting scholarship applications for
our 2004/2005 Scholarship (We give a $1,000 scholarship to a high
school athlete each year). We are also helping high school athletes
promote themselves to college coaches. One of our goals at SportsToSchool.com
is to help students help themselves. We stress the valuable life
skills of learning how to present yourself and how to be pro-active
when reaching towards a goal.
All in all,
it has been a VERY busy fall for Doug and I. One of the perks (my
favorite perk!) of having a home-based business is the opportunity
that we have to spend the summers in New England, and the winters
in Sunny South Florida. Last year, we spent a full 6 months in Florida
- this year, we will be back and forth between Newport and Florida
- we will be in Juno Beach for approximately two months. We leave
on December 26th!
I will also
regularly update my journal from this point forward with new marketing
techniques that we are using
feedback about the home-based
business process
and much more. I look forward to it! Please
feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if there is
anything I can help you with

My Mom and I went to see one of my favorites - Barry Manilow
- at the Dunkin Donuts center in Providence, RI

This is Doug and I at Gilette stadium for the Patriots game on
October 10th against the Miami Dolphins (guess who won!)

This is our friend, Mark, showcasing last year's SuperBowl ticket!
He has been to both SuperBowls that the Patriots have won over the
last few years...

Surf & Turf while tailgating!
The "before the game" is almost as good as the "actual
game!"

Gillette is such an amazing stadium!

This is my best friend and her son - we are walking through a
corn maze!
Here we are about to take a hay ride to the Pumpkin Patch!

This is the tree that I look at through the sliders in my home
office. I just love this picture with the sun and clouds...

Steve, Mark, Jenn (me!), Doug, Kathy: We went to the Hoyt Cinema
for the film premiere, "Stay Until Tomorrow." Steve's
sister Laura is an independent film producer and this was her Rhode
Island debut...
This was at the Red Sox victory parade in Boston. Manny Ramirez
was holding a sign that said, "Jeter is playing golf today.
This is better!" We love it!

A picture of us standing in front of the new (and rather large)
World Champs banner in Boston!

This is Terry Francona and our GM, Theo Epstein holding the World
Series Trophy

Gotta love Boston fans!

This picture is my absolute favorite - Doug took this one. It's
of our pitchers, Pedro Martinez and Derek Lowe! Of course it is
possible that neither one will be in a Red Sox uniform next year...
Time will tell!
Last year, I spent the Holidays in Sunny South Florida. This
year, we are home in Newport, RI (until December 26th!) and I am
excited about decoring our house for Christmas. This past weekend,
Doug and I went to Sweetberry Farms which is just down the street
from our house to tag our Christmas Tree. So many to choose from!
This is the actual tree that we chose...
We received an early Christmas gift from my Mom - a new Sony
Cybershot digital camera (and video recorder). Doug and I took this
picture of ourselves just before we decorated our tree. I am SO
impressed with this camera... the picture quality is amazing and
we can take videos with it as well! It is so small that it fits
into my pocket... If you are in the market for a digital camera,
I would highly recommend this one!
