Hello,
It seems that
Spring is trying to break through here
in the Northeast. I'm finally beginning to see green
grass and buds on the trees! I became spoiled in Florida
over the winter with 80 degree weather and palm trees
everywhere I looked.
[I'm able to
spend the winters in sunny South Florida and
the summers in Rhode Island because of the success of my
home-based businesses. I appreciate the flexibility of my
businesses, and strongly encourage you to begin your own
business from home using your computer. Or, if you
already have your own Internet business that you work
from home, take it to the next level. It is very possible,
and it is so rewarding!]
My Mom is a
professor at Salve Regina University here in
Newport, RI. Each semester, she invites me to speak to
her students about using the Internet to make money. It's
great to answer questions and see the enthusiasm. A lot
of her students are excited by the possibilities - I can
see it in their eyes.
Last year, Shaun
Nicholson was one of the students in her
class. Just last week, my Mom told me that he actually
acted upon the advice I gave in the class as well as in
my book, "Zero To Six Figures," and he is now operating
his own Internet business!
I am so impressed
with Shaun and his Internet business
idea. You can see him at www.NewportFinder.com - his
business is in the beginning stages, and is already
seeing success!
In a nutshell,
NewportFinder is a website that tourists
as well as locals can go to and find businesses in the
area. Shaun created a database that allows you to
search by categories.
For example,
he has categories such as Automotive,
Dining, Education, Entertainment, Hotels / Inns / B&B's.
And, you can refine your search one step further.
Once you select a category such as "Automotive," you
can select whether you are looking for autobody services,
dealerships, maintenance, rentals, etc. If you choose
"Health and Beauty," you can then select barber shops,
hair salons, massage therapists, personal trainers,
tanning salons, etc.
He charges a
monthly fee for businesses to have a
listing in his database. He also charges additional
money to have a logo or banner included with the
listing. In my eyes, the best part about Shaun's
business idea is that he is setting himself up with
RECURRING INCOME. He does the work once, and he will
get paid automatically over and over again. Shaun
also has 3 other students working with him on this
project.
It is a brilliant
business concept - way to go Shaun!
There are those
that "think" that building a business
from home on the Internet is a great idea, and there
are those that actually go out there and DO it.
Shaun is a young
college student and put this business
together in his spare time. If he continues to market,
market, market - by the time he graduates, he will
have a very substantial income!
If you are contemplating
starting a business from home,
or taking your existing business onto the Internet, I say
GO FOR IT! Don't wait because time continues to go on.
It is possible,
and it doesn't require you to spend a
lot of money to get started.
This is why
