What is your background?
A: I was born and raised
in West Warwick, Rhode Island. I attended Our Lady of Czenstochowa
for grade school, JF Deering Junior High School, and West Warwick
High School. I graduated from Yale University where I majored
in Political Science.
As far back
as I can remember, I had a feeling inside me that drove me to
choose a different path. I didn't want my life to be ordinary,
but rather exhilarating and fresh. I am an entrepreneur and I
always wanted a business of my own.
I
had no idea what my future would hold after graduating from Yale.
I didn't send out my resume and go to interviews like my classmates.
My family thought I was crazy for not even looking for a job.
I didn't put together a resume or write a cover letter. Imagine
the shock - over $130,000 for an Ivy-League education, and I certainly
didn't appear to be headed down the "right" path. But
I had other plans. I wanted something of my own.
With
no extraordinary computer skills or Internet marketing experience,
I taught myself how to create basic websites and at the age of
24, I started my own Internet business from home. I was not rich
when I started my business. I was just out of college with little
more than a credit card and a dream.
Q: What
are your interests, your hobbies, what do you do in your spare
time?
A: When I'm not working,
I am devoted to helping a non-profit cat rescue group called "PawsWatch"
in Rhode Island. Helping animals who can't help themselves is
my passion. I do a lot of fundraising, I answer phone calls, organize
events, etc.
Football anyone?
I am a huge sports fan. Football, golf and baseball are my favorite
"spectator" sports. Of course I'm from Rhode Island,
which means I have born into a life of suffering as a Red Sox
fan. But Tom Brady and his team make up for it with my Patriots!
I'm a "wanna-be" tennis player, an ex-division I gymnast,
and I can hit a driver with the best of them.
I love a great
restaurant and a bottle of wine, and I love warm weather and palm
trees (hence why I am spending six months in sunny south Florida!)
Did you mention shopping?
My husband
is my best friend, and we are conquering the world together each
and every day.
Q: How
would you describe your book, Zero To Six Figures?
A: Zero To Six Figures
is my personal story. It tells how I started my own Internet business
from home at the age of 24 with virtually no experience or capital
to invest. It shows the reader exactly how I earned six figures
in my first year and was on track to double my income in the second
year when a private investor bought my business after only 18
months.
More importantly,
the book also shows people how to start and operate their own
successful home-based businesses. Zero To Six Figures
walks with readers step-by-step through the entire process of
conceiving, setting up, and operating their own successful home-based
Internet businesses.
Q: Why did
you decide to write Zero To Six Figures?
A: The
most frustrating time in my life came when I started my first
Internet business. I had made the decision to start my own business
on the Internet, but at that time, I really knew very little about
what that entailed. While trying to navigate through a minefield
of Internet technology, I ran into one roadblock after another.
Every day, I wished there was a simple resource that I could turn
to for guidance. Something to walk me through all of the steps
I would have to take to start my business and get it up and running
smoothly on the Internet.
From day one,
I had it in the back of my mind that after I successfully built
my business, I was going to write a book to make it easier for
others who were trying to do what I did.
I only wish
Zero To Six Figures was available when I first got started
because it would have saved me a great deal of time and frustration!
Q: How long
did it take you to write Zero To Six Figures?
A: Not
including the many years of research and real-life experiences
that make up Zero To Six Figures, it took me just over
one year to actually write the book.
Q: There
have been many books written about starting a home-based business.
What makes Zero To Six Figures different?
A: I wrote a book designed
to help people who want to improve their lives by starting a home-based
business on the Internet. It helps a wide variety of people, all

I continue
to use the same techniques that I talk about in Zero To Six Figures
to build and operate my own successful businesses

Q: Why do
you think you were able to succeed so quickly?
A: I
was successful because I refused to fail. There were so many times
that I could have quit because I lacked the knowledge and the
experience, and everything seemed to be going against me. But,
I made the decision to build myself the type of life that I wanted,
and I was determined to make it happen. I honestly believe that
all anyone needs to be successful is the courage to try and the
determination to succeed. And by reading Zero To Six Figures,
the road to success will be much smoother.
Q: Did you
invest a lot of money when you first got started?
A: I
didn't have any money to invest when I first started my business.
All I had was a credit card and a dream so I learned to do everything
on a shoestring budget. Contrary to popular belief, it does not
have to cost a lot to start a home-based Internet business, and
Zero To Six Figures shows you exactly how to do it for
less.
Q:
What motivates you?
A: Of course I think
about big houses and fancy cars. I'm only human! But more importantly,
I think about being happy, feeling good about my family and myself.
Peace of mind is so important to me, and something I strive towards
every day.
Q: What
advice would you give to someone who wanted to start his or her
own Internet business from home?
A: Go
for it! Give it everything you've got, and don't let anything
or anyone get in your way. Take the time to educate yourself.

A: What I did is achievable
for anyone with the drive to make it happen. I was not rich when
I started my business. I was just out of college with little more
than a credit card and a dream. I began my business from scratch,
and at that time, I had no special skills or training that allowed

that I could do it on my own. And I had the courage to go forward
and set my own course when everyone around me said I was crazy.

Q: Do
you have any plans to write another book?
A: I do have another
idea for a book I want to write, but I don't think I will be able
to get around to it for a few years. Right now I am concentrating
on helping other entrepreneurs turn their dreams into reality
through my work with The Home Business People.
